Williamsburg Community Foundation Welcomes Scott Andrews-Weckerly as Director of Community Investment

May 8, 2025, Williamsburg, VA – The Williamsburg Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Scott Andrews-Weckerly will join the staff as Director of Community Investment, beginning May 27, 2025. In this newly expanded role, Scott will oversee the Foundation’s grantmaking and scholarship programs and will also help shape and implement new initiatives that emerge from the Foundation’s 2025–2027 Strategic Plan.

The Director of Community Investment position reflects an evolution from the former Program Officer role, which focused primarily on grant and scholarship administration. The new title signals an expanded focus on community partnerships and strategic investments that align with the Foundation’s evolving goals.

“This role reflects where we’re headed as a Foundation,” said Nancy Coté Sullivan. “It’s about making smart, intentional investments that support long-term change, and Scott brings the skills and passion to help us do just that.”

Scott currently serves as Senior Program Officer for Economic Prosperity at the Community Foundation for a greater Richmond (CFGR), where he leads discretionary grantmaking and strategic partnerships focused on housing affordability, homelessness, and adult workforce development. A licensed master social worker, he brings more than a decade of experience in direct service, program design and administration.

He previously managed the CFGR’s nonprofit capacity building and leadership development portfolio and has presented nationally on the intersection of housing and health. He also serves on the City of Richmond’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund Supervisory Board and as Vice Chair of the Greater Richmond Continuum of Care—the region’s network of providers serving people experiencing homelessness.

Born and raised in San Diego, Scott holds degrees from Elon College and the University of Southern California. He and his family have lived in James City County for the past nine years. His wife, Jennifer, is the Rector of Hickory Neck Episcopal Church in Toano, and their two school-age daughters attend WJCC schools.

This transition also marks a fond farewell to Ginny Gasink, who has served the Foundation since 2016. After years of helping local nonprofits and students thrive, Ginny is stepping down from her role as Program Officer at the Williamsburg Community Foundation to pursue her passion for social work.

“She has a real heart for this community, and she has helped shape our programmatic work over the last several years,” said Sullivan, President & CEO. “While we’re sad to see her go, we know she’s moving toward work that’s deeply meaningful to her.”

With a grateful farewell to Ginnyy and a warm welcome to Scott, the Foundation looks forward to continuing its mission to support and strengthen our community.
