The Sutton family: Briana (JHS ’13), Braden (WA ’14), Leanne, Doug, Tara (JHS ’07), and Kieley (JHS ’11)
The Sutton Family Scholarship Fund was established in 2022 by Leanne and Doug Sutton. This endowment is designed to support a student who has advocated for social equity, equality, and acceptance among their peers, is the first in their family to attend college, and has financial need.
“All four of the Sutton kids graduated from Williamsburg schools, namely Jamestown High School and Walsingham Academy. When scholarships were being awarded during that period of time it seemed to us that many of the recipients had strong support systems, allowing them to excel in the classroom.” said Leanne. “These same recipients many times also already had the means to attend college. We would like to help a student who would benefit from financial support, who shows ability in the classroom, but as importantly shows promise as a leader in their community.”
The WCF Scholarship Endowment turns generosity into opportunity for local students year after year. You can contribute to this enduring fund or follow in the Sutton’s footsteps by creating a scholarship that reflects your values and vision.
