Williamsburg, Va., March 22, 2021 – Williamsburg Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Chesapeake Bank will sponsor a college scholarship again this year through the WJCC Scholarship Fund. The $1,000 scholarship will go to a student from any one of the three WJCC public high schools, who has an interest in pursuing a career in banking or financial services. The WJCC Scholarship Fund at the Williamsburg Community Foundation is a community-wide effort to recognize the accomplishments of local students and help families afford higher education. Scholarships are made possible by individuals, families, businesses, civic groups and high school parent-teacher-student associations. Founded as the Lafayette Education Fund in 1974, the WJCC Scholarship Fund awards 50-60 scholarships annually.
