Our next grant deadline for Community Endowment and other grants will be July 18, 2018. The application will be online HERE in mid-May.
Community Endowment Grants of up to $5,000 will be made by the Williamsburg Community Foundation. The Foundation is interested in receiving applications from organizations that support a broad range of community enrichment opportunities and respond to changing community needs. We have reframed our grant priorities to better reflect how our grant investments impact the community through five specific areas of interest: Arts & Culture, Children & Young Adults, Environment & Conservation, Health & Community Wellness, and Senior Services.
Community Endowment Grants will:
- Support a diverse range of philanthropic purposes including the arts, civic affairs, community development, conservation, cultural activities, education, historic preservation, social services and other fields that benefit citizens in its service area, which encompasses Williamsburg, James City County and York County.
- Give special attention to projects that have a broad community benefit, that will provide enrichment or enhancement to the lives of residents and/or that demonstrate the potential benefit of an innovative program to the community at-large.
Organizations may also apply for grants from the McGiffert Fund for Musical Performing Arts, the Fund for Women and Girls, and the Altshuler Fund, which makes grants for transportation and amateur sports. Find more details here.
Grant guidelines and application materials may be found at on our website. Generally, an organization will receive only one grant in a year. For more information, contact the foundation office at 757-259-1660 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
